Supporting A School With Stories

Adopt a School September 27, 2017

We’re halfway through the Adopt a School campaign and are so thrilled to see the support pouring in across Canada to help high needs elementary schools get books for their libraries.

We have had over 45,000 books donated so far, which is absolutely incredible!

The stories submitted through ‘Tell a Story, Give a Story’ have been touching, humorous and eye-opening.

We’ve heard about the teachers that have changed the way you look at books, the times you’ve curled up reading a book with mom and dad, grandparents sending you new books to fall in love with and parents learning how to pass on their love of reading to their own children.

Teachers and other  educators have shared stories of students not only learning to read but learning to love it, the series and books that come up as favourites over and over and how important it is for schools to have as many books as possible available to young minds.

And with the story comes the Adopt a School Story Contest  where the top five most “hearted” stories in each province will be entered into a random draw, for a chance to win* a $2,500 Indigo eGiftcard to purchase books for their adopted school. The remaining four top “hearted” schools in each province will win a $500 Indigo eGiftcard to purchase books. Remember you can only ‘heart’ one story, but you can share it on social media to get support from your friends and family too! For full contest rules, see here.

You have until October 8th to submit and ‘heart’ a favourite story so keep writing, sharing, and earning books for the school you want to support!
