Brampton, Ontario 17 / 664 Books Given

Principal Raza Husain Our students are at risk and have great needs, especially for literacy. We have a population that is transient, parents are working multiple jobs and have English as a second language. Many students don't have a lunch or proper clothing for the weather. When I took over the library, I found it was lacking for the population in that we need high interest low reading level books, higher books to suit the academically inclined and books that will meet our students' English language needs. I want to make the library a fun and engaging safe place for them to come and enjoy reading. I am currently working on revitalizing the space and getting a Makerspace up and running. We have a limited budget and many needs! It would be fantastic to help our students engage with books. Thank you so much for considering our application!
