Parkcrest Elementary School

Kamloops, British Columbia 34 / 375 Books Given

Principal Cath Gorman Our school would benefit greatly from the Adopt a School program in many ways.
Parkcrest Elementary is a diverse school with students of many backgrounds, abilities and interests, however, our library collection fails to reflect these differences in many ways. We feel that more mainstream Aboriginal titles, nonfiction books about different cultures and places, and more updated sports and fiction books featuring strong female and male characters would remedy this situation, and align nicely with the new BC curriculum.
Next, as our school population has grown greatly over the past few years we are struggling to replace, add duplicate copies of popular titles and complete series that are in high demand. With help from the Adopt a School program we could improve this area also.
Finally, each year our library's budget become increasingly challenging to support the aforementioned goals for our collection. Any help would greatly bridge the gap between what we are given and what we need to make our library 21st century great!
Thank you for your time and consideration,

Sincerely,
Kristin Bond
