Principal Karlo Cabrera
HA Halbert Jr PS is an inner city school in South East Scarborough. Our school is 149 on the Learning Opportunity Index.
We need your support to continue to grow our school library collection! Our focus is to develop a collection of books that is relevant and responsive to the diversity of experiences found and celebrated in our school. This rich diversity invites us to learn more about each other and celebrate our unique differences and our ‘one-ness’.
Ensuring access to rich and relevant books is a high priority for our school. We believe in providing students and families with many opportunities to read together, imagine worlds together, talk to characters together and experience a book together.
Our school-wide theme of “Change Begins With Me” asks us to learn more about the world around us and our individual impact / footprint.
- To care for our environment, change begins with me!
- To understand and celebrate diversity, change begins with me!
- To support people and communities who have no voice and access, change begins with me!
Bringing about goodness within the world begins with me!
We are working to encourage global citizenship alongside our literacy goals. Please journey with us through your donation!
