Forest View Public School

Oshawa , Ontario 82 / 470 Books Given

Principal Tammy Hack Forest View is a changing community. We are becoming more diverse and have seen a significant increase in English Langauge Learners at our school.
This year we have had a 400% increase in these learners. The learning commons is the heart of the school providing space, time, computers and resources to meet the needs of our students. However our collection is old and curently does not reflect the needs of those newest to our school. We would love to be able to increase our books reflecting the diversity of our families and students, STEM resources, inquiry resources, books that are reflective of all our equity initiatives (acceptance of differences) to meet the reading needs of our diverse levels of ability. If we are able to provide resources at the students' level we can help all students fall in love with reading. We need help in making our collection inclusive, reflective of our community and up to date!
