Principal Derek Harley At E.I. McCulley, we are committed to student success! We know that getting our kids to love reading is key to improving our students' literacy skills and creating confident, connected life-long learners. To ignite that spark in every one of our learners, we need to maintain a rich collection of high-quality, current fiction as well as non-fiction materials that support the curriculum and student inquiry. As of June 2017, the average age of books in our collection is 14 years. The average date of picture books is 2000 and the average date of chapter fiction books is 2002. Many of our books were originally obtained through book fairs, second-hand store or book warehouses. They are now showing significant wear and tear, especially the more popular books, which makes them less appealing to readers. By investing in our library, you are making a difference in the lives of our students and their families! Thank you!
