A student’s success in literacy development enhances their learning in all subject areas, helps create a love of learning, and paves the way for future economic success and a rewarding life. As President Clinton said “Literacy is not a luxury, it is a right and a responsibility.” We take our responsibility to ensure our students have a strong foundation in literacy seriously. Reading is a strongly encouraged in our school, all of our students share in a love for books. Each classroom supports a home reading program, and an in class silent reading time to ensure that each student is able to read each day. Ensuring that there is a variety of books for the children is always a priority. We view the Library as the center and heart of our school. The better we can provide for our library, the opportunities for our children's growth can only multiply.
