I'm so happy with how this year's campaign is going! I've been in touch with the manager at the Mapleview IndigoSpirit and she says that many parents have been dropping by the store. What are the 3 books every school library should have and why?

"If I had to limit myself to only 3 books, they would be the following. Elephant and Piggie The Thank You Book by Mo Willems because Elephant and Piggie books are hilarious and teach kids not only how to read, but how to interact with friends and other people. The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson because it's about the little guy who doesn't let others bully him (it's also a great read aloud!) The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan because it's an exciting read that appeals to girls and boys."

"My dream library is full of light and shelves and shelves of books! It has big comfy chairs to curl up in and get lost in a good book."

"I am supporting this school because my two sons started there this year. In our family, we love to read, and nothing makes me happier than when my children get excited about a book, or a character, or they begin to figure words out on their own."

"My favourite character from a children's book is Ferdinand the Bull! Even though he is big and strong, he has no interest in fighting, and would rather sit quietly by himself in his meadow!"
