Principal Mr. Chris Radu
Ethel M Johnson School has a rich history dating back 50 years, we are proud to serve the grade K-6 students of Southwood, Canyon Meadows and communities in South Calgary who attend one of our special education system classes. We are proud of the tradition of learning that is carried on by our staff at Ethel M Johnson School. Our motto is: "Together We Learn, Grow and Inspire the Best in Ourselves and Others". These words guide students and staff in our work each day. Ethel M Johnson is a dynamic and caring learning community that accepts and celebrates diversity in learning. We encourage you to join us in meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of your children in Educating Tomorrow’s Citizens Today.
Ethel M Johnson School has a well-loved book collection, on average the non-fiction books are 15 years old and older. During the 2017/18 school year our library budget was $2,500, this amount included subscriptions to electronic reading programs, age appropriate news websites and other literacy related teaching tools which left us with around $1,000 for new books for the library. We would love to be able to replace our out-of-date and worn books. Thank you for considering Ethel M Johnson School for your Adopt a School program.

I love the way reading lets me escape to far away lands, alternate universes and go back in history. Always read the book before you see the movie - the book is always better!
