Our Lady of Perpetual HelpWindsor, Ontario 29 / 320 Books Given
Principal Jeff Fairlie We have no school budget for books. A few years ago our school library was dismantled and all of the books were dispersed into classroom libraries. As a result, we no longer have a school librarian. Each classroom teacher is responsible for the management of their own classroom library. Our classroom library collections are literally falling apart. We replace a few books each year with our proceeds from our school book fair but this is a very small number of paper back books. Since our goal is to get 1000 or more books in each classroom, we could really use the funds and/or books to reach that goal. We know that the Adopt-a-School program can assist us in improving and maintaining our classroom libraries.
Favourite books Kindergarten students love "The Book with No Pictures" and "This is a Ball". Our primary students love all of the Pete the Cat books. Our junior students love Gordon Korman books. "The Hobbit" is still a favourite of our intermediate students.
