Principal Susanna Eppich Our main goal again for 2018 - 2019 is reading! Our main focus is to support our struggling and vulnerable readers - by having text appropriate books in each reader's hands and by having engaging, well-written books to enjoy from the library. Our library is still struggling to update the books on our shelves (many of which are still over 10 years old and worn out from use).

Rick Mayall (a British actor) had a great impact on my love of reading. I remember vividly watching him read George's Marvelous Medicine by Ronald Dahl on Jackanory (a show where celebs read stories) He brought the book to life with his funny voices and crazy facial expressions. I read the ...
I had a book of a collection of Aesop's Fables. As a child I thought they were lovely stories, mainly because most included animals. As a teen I started to understand the meanings and teachings of the stories. As an adult I still enjoy the morals taught by Aesop's Fables and love to share and ...

I grew up around books - my parents read a lot, and my sisters and I always had a well-stocked library in our house. It was normal to go for a long road trip with the back seat full of novels for the drive or the destination. The person who made the biggest impact on my reading was my grandma. ...
Reading with my daughter was/is important to me because it’s great bonding time before bedtime and we get to learn together. When she was younger, I could teach her how to read and what things meant, and now that she is a great reader she often reads to me!

Reading is important to me because it opened a gateway to an endless universe of new worlds to me as a child, and I still read daily. One of my main goals as a parents is to pass on my love of reading to my son.
