Our library is the hub of our school and we depend on our library to have great books for our students to read. Many of our students do not have books at home as their families struggle with issues related to poverty. Having high quality books for students to read in the library is essential as it reinforces the reading and writing instruction that is taking place in the classrooms. At Balwin we not only want our students to know how to read but we want to ensure that our students view reading as a pleasurable activity. Having a wide selection of books for students to choose from is important if we want students to continue to learn through reading.

Thank-you, Miss Mosby, for sharing your love of reading with your students. It makes me so happy that you are teaching kids to love books as much as we do!
