St. Teresa of Calcutta

Windsor, Ontario 225 / 520 Books Given

Principal Elise Daragon St. Teresa of Calcutta is located in a diverse low to middle income area. Many of our students come to school lacking fundamental literacy skills, hence their initial progress is slow in acquiring skills. Having access to a range of current and engaging fiction and non-fiction text will go a long way in bridging the gap and creating conditions for equity for our students. Our students love books - They enjoy being read to and they also find delight in independently reading books at their reading level. As a staff we are very committed to raising the bar for our students. We regularly assess our students' reading skills in an effort to put accessible reading material into their hands. Lastly, each of our classrooms have libraries that are in need of refurbishing. As well, we are a brand new school with an incredible open space. Our vision is to create optimum learning conditions - Having the support of Indigo would help considerably.
Thank you!
