Our little school just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and it's very important that the library grows with the school. We will be getting new teachers, and a lot of new students. We want to make sure everyone feels welcome, and has the materials they need to succeed.

"When I was in grade 5 over 50 years ago, I fell in love with Tom's Garden. I was enchanted with the idea that this young boy could travel in time and experience his word the way it was years before he was born. Since that book, I've always been intrigued about how people lived in the past."

"I am supporting the Rosscarrock school library because it is my favourite spot in the whole school. The school librarian is awesome too. The Rosscarrock library provides access for students to develop their interests and enhance their thinking. I've seen it actually happen. My students will learn in class and seek out more information on library day and make connections all over the place with enthusiasm! YAY!! Libraries!!"

"My oldest son Jack, who is 10 now, was a slow start reader. He didn't like to read and it took me a while to determine why. I read to him at home since infancy, we started going to library story time when he was a toddler and we checked out books at the library and read them together from the time he was little. He struggled with reading in Kindergarten and was easily frustrated. He never asked to read and was upset when he was asked to read. Until one day when we stumbled across Star Wars book. Jack sat and read it for an hour. I was flabbergasted. He had never shown interest in reading before. It hit me like a ton of bricks, of course ... subject matter. It had to be something he had an extreme interest in. From that day on I have surrounded him with books on subjects he loves. We have Minecraft books, Star Wars books, Lego books, and RL Stine Goosebumps books to name a few. After he started reading the books he loved I encouraged him to try new books by checking out library audio books for long car rides. He started to appreciate the idea that there were other books out there he will enjoy. He sometimes picks up a book that is out of his comfort zone on his own now and is much more apt to read other books that aren't solely key interest books. He spends time each night reading on his own before bed. I strongly believe that the key to developing strong readers is providing them with materials that interest them. That means providing your school library with funds or books that appeal to each student. I am grateful for Indigo's Adopt a School program that helps schools build more complete libraries. Thank you Indigo!"
