Sunnyside School

Lethbridge County, Alberta 7 / 115 Books Given

Principal Connie Adserballe We are a small school with students age 5-12. With a very small library budget, it has been challenging to keep our library current and interesting for all ages. Our budget only allows us to focus on one area at a time. For example, we've started to add graphic novels, but there's a great need to update our non-fiction section and picture books. Unlike other schools in Southern Alberta, Sunnyside School is one of the few schools that is not tied to any community and therefore access to public libraries are limited for some students making the school library that much more important. We believe in providing all students with a wide range of reading material at all levels and we're grateful for the opportunity to make this presentation to Indigo! Last summer our library was renovated for the first time in nearly 50 years. We have beautiful new shelving and some great reading spaces--we just need to add some more great reads! We know that any financial support will go a long way in building the kind of library that will turn every student into a lifelong reader!
