Smiths Falls, Ontario 416 / 252 Books Given

Principal Paul Leroy The Montague school library collection is old and outdated. Usage is low because of the age and quality of books in the collection. What little books are brought into the collection, through Scholastic book fairs and donations, are popular but even that only amounts to a few hundred dollar worth of books. After years of uncertainty and change, the arrival of a new librarian has produced much change in the library but a lot of work remains to be done to make this a vibrant centre of learning. Students are engaged in collaborative learning and technology based research in the space but a vibrant library collection is essential for not only their education but in instilling a love of literacy. We are working hard to make this an inviting space where students want to collaborate or read quietly, now we need the books to help make that happen.

Favourite books Our students love graphic novels and Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. Picture books are another favourite here at Montague Public School. We love The Book with No Pictures and Rosie Revere Engineer.

Some books we would love to have include:

Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beatty
Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beatty
Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg
Dork Diaries # 6 to #13 by Renee Russell
Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
