Principal Theo Dagenais Our school is an inner city school with a small library collection. Our students love to read. They often say that they love books but they've read what we have in our collection many times over. As their school librarian I am constantly asked by them if we have any new books. I run a book fair every year that helps a bit with our budget but not enough to build on our collection. We usually don't make much of a profit to buy many books. My heart goes out to our students who want to read and we have such a limited choice in all areas, fiction, non-fiction, picture books. When we do get some new books their faces light up! A boy in grade 4 asked me recently if we got any new books and I had to sadly say no at which point he said, which I will never forget, it breaks his heart.....

Favourite books Graphic novels such as Adventure Time, anything by Doug TenNapel, Dork Diaries, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Strawberry Shortcake, Barbie, Disney, are all very popular.
Non-fiction such as dinosaurs, animals, cars, super heroes, Haunted Canada, Guinness World Records.
