What is your favourite memory from your elementary school library and why?

"When our school first participated in this event, my oldest daughter was in grade 5, and our local Chapters store featured us a the school they were going to give all of their donations to. It was such a fantastic, inspiring experience. I cannot remember how many books we were able to fill our library with, but it was a HUGE amount! The best part was that the principal and the grade 6 teacher selected a handful of children to go with them on a field trip to the Chapters store and they kids got to help select the books for the school library! My daughter was so happy and excited to be selected as part of the group. They were all so excited, you should have seen them, like kids in a candy store! (or kids in a book store!) That is a very special memory for me regarding the Love of Reading Program, watching all of the kids running through the store, grabbing every book they wanted to read, getting to choose the books they wanted to share with their classmates, and the younger children in the school. The day the boxes of books arrived, well, holy cow! It took up probably a third of the space of our library! Every child in the school was so excited, our librarian had a difficult time keeping all of the children from ripping open all of the boxes!
Thank you so much for supporting our school, and inspiring children everywhere!
