Blessed Trinity

Toronto, Ontario 310 / 210 Books Given

Principal Nanssi Chahine Blessed Trinity is a growing school with a small budget, yet our students have many diverse needs. We have a variety of special programs, including those for English language learners, for children with multiple exceptionalities, for students with language processing difficulties, and for students requiring behavioral intervention, to name a few. We are excited about promoting independent reading and reading across the curriculum for all students. To fully support our students, we need reading materials at a wide range of levels and with a variety of topics and formats. We are hoping to purchase:
*non-fiction books that are engaging and written at an appropriate level for young children and struggling readers of all ages,
*picture books, novels and graphic texts that reflect the diversity of our school and the wider community
* books to celebrate indigenous culture in Canada
*some of the wonderful new children's literature that is being published in Canada and around the world, to supplement our aging library collection.
We do not have a librarian in the school, although a library technician is at our school once a week to maintain the collection. Our staff is committed to improving the library collection, getting books into the hands of children and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
