Bluenose AcademyLunenburg, Nova Scotia 183 / 515 Books Given
Principal Steven McGill Bluenose Academy is a fairly new school with a beautiful new library but our books are very old (having come from the libraries of 4 merging schools - in fact many books were too old & damaged to take with us when we moved into Bluenose Academy). In addition, the books we have are shared between 515+ children and are therefore well-used and quickly tend to wear out. Books are so incredibly important to the education of our children, and so many families are not able to afford to purchase books for their own children, so a well-stocked school library is incredibly important for these children. Please help us provide new and up-to-date books for all children who attend Bluenose Academy! We sincerely thank you for your support.

Can I put them from my grandson Liam McLaughlin in Grade 1? :)
Reading is not always my children's favorite thing to do, but with the right teacher and the right motivation reading has become a constant at our house. Part of that motivation is having the right variety of books to be able to pick the books you enjoy. This school works hard to have just the ...
When my boys were born I remember getting that small yellow bag with a board book inside. "Read to your children" was promoted and encouraged. I read parenting advice with phrases like "promotes healthy brain development", "important parenting choices!" So with a sense of duty I went to the ...
