When I was a young girl, my mother would always say if you don't know something then look it up in a book! She loved to direct me to the dictionary or a thesaurus if I didn't know what a word meant and she loved to reference one of the hundreds of books on her bookshelf to help me learn about a topic of interest. I am not sure where she got her love of reading, but having dropped out of highschool at a young age she became very good at self educating. I have watched her blossom into the wise woman she is today and she has now finished an undergrad degree in psychology and a masters degree in public administration. I attribute her success and accomplishments to her overcoming her dyslexia and developing a love of reading. This quality has influenced me and now my daughters in how we learn and for our love of books and reading!
