I remember my Aunt reading to me as a child. We snuggled together after dinners on her couch and she would read books to me using her finger to note the words so that I could follow along and learn words. Later, we each would take turns reading a sentence, then a page. Eventually my Aunt could not see well enough to read herself and I remember going to read to her. It was a bonding time for the 2 of us and nothing else seemed to matter while we were reading together. The books we read opened up new worlds and ideas for me and now that she is gone I continue this tradition with my own children. Thanks Aunt Florence for helping me to learn how to read and fall in love with reading!
