At a very young age I would visit the public libraries in my area and borrow up to 30 books at a time. With my wagon or backpack full of literature , I walked home knowing I was going to be transported to a new world with each chapter. I reveled in the adventure and mystery each book took me into. I escaped real life by submersing myself in the words and feelings of each character I read about. I thoroughly enjoyed learning and reading as much as I could. As an adult, I continued my love of reading with my son, and read him every single book I could get my hands on. I became so excited on the day when my son could read to me. I encouraged him to expand his own desires through the love of reading. Now I am constantly told he never wants to stop reading at school, which makes me smile knowing I have set him up on a path that will continue for many years to come.
