Books can have a profound impact on our lives and the way we view the world, especially as children. I found it near impossible to pick one of my favorite children's books because there are so many great ones out there however the book that has impacted me the most throughout my life, as a child, then again as a teenager and one more time when I became a parent is "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. It has such a great message about the ebbs and flows of life, in a style only Seuss can deliver. I remember as a kid loving all the beautiful illustrations with all the unique characters. It was like you escaped to this fantasy world whenever you read it. For my high school graduation this book was read to us as a message about not being afraid to follow your dreams no matter what challenges you may face. I feel like I carried this message with me throughout university and into my adult life. I once again fell in love with this book when it was bought for me by my best friend when I was pregnant with my first child. My husband and I would read the book before we went to sleep through all the stages of my pregnancy and now continue to read it to my two daughters as it is one of their favorites. I will always cherish Dr. Seuss and the strong yet quirky messages he delivers in his books.
"You're off to great places!
Today is your Day!
Your Mountain is Waiting.
So... get on your way!"
Dr. Seuss
