My house was always full of books growing up, but there is one that stick out clearly in my memory. Pierre Berton's children's book "The Secret World of Og" was an absolute favourite. I remember being fascinated by it when my parents read it to me, and then eagerly re-reading it myself as both a child and a teenager. I bought my own copy as an adult and my husband read it aloud to by belly at night when I was pregnant with my first daughter. He read it to her again when she was in Kindergarten, and she read it again herself just last summer and loved it! Something about the funny, quirky characters and the amazing adventure they go on right under their own backyard has always captivated me, and I love that it still works for a modern audience!
