I'd like to recommend the following books due to their extraordinary illustrations. Days on the Farm, written and illustrated by Kim Lewis, is written for young children and has such captivating drawings that I like to look at it even now although my children have outgrown the stories. Books written and illustrated by Jan Brett are always a treat with the beautiful and detailed drawings providing hints of what is to come in the story. Finally, I would recommend David Suzuki's "Salmon Forest", wonderfully illustrated in watercolor by Sheena Lott. It's a great account of the interdependence of all life.
