Who helped you fall in love with reading and how?

My dad , George, was the main person who made me fall in love with reading. He himself was a voracious reader and he passed his love of reading on to me and my brother. Every night before we went to sleep he would read us a story. He taught us the alphabet and sounds of each letter long before we started school. My dad was a very patient person who listened to us read aloud without constantly correcting us or rushing us along. Each week I remember how excited I was to walk to our local library with my dad and my brother to take new books out. Every Christmas he gave me a book. Some of my favourites were The Wind in the Willows, Alice in Wonderland and Treasure Island. I think seeing my dad read frequently and spending time reading with him made me fall in love with reading.
