I talked with Alyssa, a grade 8 student at Frontenac about why reading was important to her. She explained that reading is important because it helps to improve her English skills. Whether it's communicating or writing a sentence, it's a large part of what has helped her learn and improve.

She explains that when reading a book, she gets the opportunity to learn words she didn't even know existed. Alyssa came from a different country, so exploring the English language is really fascinating. Also, a lot of books teach the reader an important lesson. They teach the importance of life, coping with problems, or even accepting the truth.
