Reading the book Goodnight Moon by Margret Wise Brown became the tradition each night at my house as we put our kids to bed. We always read several books together at bedtime but Goodnight Moon left everyone in a calm, peaceful and loving place so it was the book that ended very story session. Even now, my husband and I and our adult children can work our way through a lot of the story by memory if someone just starts off with the first line. We had several copies over the years as we kept an extra around just in case we ever lost one as no one wanted to break the tradition. There are many other excellent kids' books that could become other families bedtime tradition and I hope that people find one that works for them and their children.
