As a young girl in a rural community with no library, books were not easily accessed. My father would go to Winnipeg once a week to pick up supplies and he would treat me once a month to a book. I remember waiting up for him at night until he arrived so I could see the new adventure I could escape into. I have always loved the feel of opening up to that first chapter and the first few lines that always drew you into the story. I still read everyday. It is my happy place!
