I support the Port Elgin Regional School library because of the connection to my husband's family - he grew up there and there are so many teachers in his family who either attended or taught at (or both!) the school. Currently my sister in law teaches there and two of my nephews attend the school.
Reading was the ultimate escape for a shy and lonely kid like me and for a long time I thought of reading as just that - an escape. As I got older, I began to see how fundamentally important reading is beyond an escape - it opens your eyes to the world around you, it inspires you to be curious and to foster a lifelong love of learning.
For my nephews, and all the kids at Port Elgin Regional School, having access to books is crucial for their future so the support of Indigo's Love of Reading Foundation is very much appreciated!
